About the Committee on Ministry
The COM and its Care Team members are often the “face” of the Presbytery for our congregations. Their mandate is to support the ministry and vitality of our congregations. Each church in the Presbytery has a specific liaison person from COM whose goal is to know the church and pastor well enough to assist with acquiring resources when needed and to extend care and nurture in times of joy and stress.
COM and its Care Team members assist congregations in times of pastoral transition, call processes, conflict, or mission development. This group of servants works to help pastors through personal crisis, financial need and Board of Pension questions. They offer educational opportunities for pastors and elders in organizational systems, personnel, prevention of sexual misconduct training, church development, and a variety of other areas.
