Engaged at the intersection of music, spiritual formation and liturgical theology, Richard composes and publishes songs for community singing. His most recent music is around the Psalms. Richard studies, teaches and sings the Psalms at events and workshops, and consults for congregations in the midst of deep change.
Raised Lutheran (ELCA), Richard earned his M.A. in Theology and the Arts at United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities (UCC). Musically, Richard has been touring for over 20 years-- often with his wife Trish-- and has published a dozen albums. His music has been published by the PCUSA, UCC, ELCA and UMC.
Richard’s most recent resource “Love Stands With" was released in November 2014 and centers on justice and compassionate action.
