Workshops for receiving federal assistance to help low-income families
Workshops for receiving federal assistance to help low-income families

Low income families in Pierce, Thurston and Kitsap counties will receive much-needed access to benefits and services thanks to Federal stimulus dollars.  Twelve to twenty small nonprofits in Pierce, Thurston and Kitsap counties will be selected following a competitive application process.  The Faith and community-based organizations will receive training, technical assistance and funding through Associated Ministries of Tacoma-Pierce County.

Faith and Community-Based organizations that are currently, or are interested in meeting critical needs of low-income households have an opportunity to build their capacity. Capacity building will be provided through a series of training workshops, coupled with one-on-one technical assistance, or mentoring.  Additionally, participating faith and community-based organizations will be granted $5,000-$20,000 for capacity buildings measures.

Associated Ministries has up to date information on this exciting initiative on their website www.associatedministries.org (see Community Resource Connections). Also, interested applicants are encouraged to attend one of two remaining information sessions:
