Leading Change is a Skill All Pastors Need Who among us is not leading change? Probably no one! Knowing this to be true, the Commission on Ministry is offering grant support to encourage more of Olympia Presbytery pastors to take Transitional Ministry training. COM is offering grant funds up to 50% of registration costs at various training sites. LINK to apply for the COM Transitional Ministry Training Grant. There are several online and in person training opportunities offered by ecumenical groups across the country. Here’s one offered by AE Sloan that COM encourages clergy to consider. While all of pastoral ministry involves leading in times of change, there are particular tasks and challenges facing those in transitional ministry. These seasons in a congregation offer a unique opportunity for reflection, discernment, and renewed mission and ministry. I am excited to be working with AE Sloan Leadership to offer a new kind of transitional ministry training that will focus on increasing adaptive leadership capacity while also teaching the technical skills needed for leading in times of pastoral transition. I am grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Olympia Presbytery in whole-heartedly recommending this unique training to pastors who want to work in transitional ministry, or those who simply want to grow their ability to lead in times of change.
