The March in Olympia
Saturday, March 2, 2024 The Poor People’s Campaign will hold a march and assembly on Saturday, March 2, 2024, at the state capital in Olympia. The Mass Poor People’s & Low Wage Worker’s Moral March to State House Assemblies is part of a nationwide promotion for voter registration and calls for the country to end systemic racism, poverty, the war economy, ecological devastation, and the distorted moral narrative. This is a non-partisan organization. It is also non-violent, following in the footsteps of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. At this time, poverty is the 4th leading cause of death in the US. We will march to ask our elected leaders to address this and other problems, and to encourage poor and low wage workers to register and vote. The plans for the march are still being worked out. We will assemble at a location nearby, then march to the capital grounds to hear speakers and music. The Washington PPC’s goal is for at least 1,000 people to participate on that day. I feel this is right in line with our Matthew 25 values and I am planning to be at the march. Would you like to participate?
