Innovation
The Innovation Committee equips Olympia Presbytery to imagine and experiment faithfully, helping established churches steward their resources creatively, nurture new worshipping communities, and share stories of God’s renewing work in our neighborhoods.
-
The Innovation Committee exists to nurture the Spirit’s work of imagination and renewal
in Olympia Presbytery. Our vision is to see churches and leaders freed to experiment,
create, and respond faithfully to the needs of their communities. We believe innovation
is not about novelty for its own sake, but about discerning how God is calling us to
embody the Gospel in fresh and courageous ways.

Cultivate Dinners are an invitation to meet together with other Olympia Presbytery folks who are in the beginning stages of imagining new experiments in being the Church together. Starting new things is always a challenge, but it is so much more enjoyable when you have a group of folks to journey alongside, bounce ideas off of, share resources and encouragement with, and learn together. Dinner is provided but spots are limited, so sign up as soon as registration opens to secure your spot! See Events page for details.

The purpose of the Innovation Committee is to:
Foster a culture of experimentation and learning among existing congregations.
Support the birth and growth of new worshipping communities.
Equip established churches to use their resources—like buildings, finances, and people—in ways that bless their neighborhoods.
Provide tools, gatherings, and pathways that make innovation accessible to leaders and congregations.
Share the stories of innovation across our presbytery so that hope and creativity ripple outward.
Together, we will help Olympia Presbytery steward its resources and imagination for God’s mission, encouraging one another to try new things, to learn from both success and failure, and to trust that the Spirit is making all things new.
