The First Presbyterian Church of Snohomish is seeking a Director of Music Ministries.  At FPCS, we seek to engage persons of all ages in using their vocal and instrumental talent to enjoy and bring glory to God in worship. Music serves to unite the congregation in worship expression and enhance the worship themes found in weekly scriptures, liturgies, and sermons. Our worship music is a reflection of the diversity of our congregation and our world.  We desire to have a breadth of musical genres and styles that foster greater congregational involvement and joy in worship.

Has experience with and enthusiasm for working with children.

Has knowledge of or willingness to learn child-centered, experience-based teaching methods such as the Montessori-like curriculum.

Has a Christian belief and practice with a basic understanding of the Presbyterian faith and tradition.

Is reliable, responsible, and consistent presence, and commitment to year-round teaching.

Has a willingness to complete Godly Play training (to be paid for by Westminster.)

Bethany Presbyterian Church north end of Tacoma

Looking for a 20-hour-a-week Director of Child and Youth Christian Education who will enjoy developing and supporting the overall Christian educational ministry of Bethany Presbyterian Church with a specific focus on children and youth, infancy through grade 12.

We are an inclusive, progressive, vibrant Christian community. We enjoy trying new ideas and including our children in the life of our congregation.

Successful applicants will have a bachelor’s degree and experience in Christian education, communications, or related field and a minimum of two years’ experience working independently and collaboratively, teaching children from infancy to twelfth grade. Applicants must also have a vibrant Christian faith that is open and affirming of all God’s children and have participated in and been a part of a Christian community.

Weekend and evening hours are to be expected. 

Longview Presbyterian Church 

Scope of work: Part time position September through May. Work with the pastor and worship committee to select anthem(s) from the church library, rehearse evenings and direct the church choir one Sunday per month. 

Desired knowledge and skills:

Musical training and/or directing experience.

Sensitivity to choral music as a spiritual aid to worship.

Good references; well groomed.

Compensation:

$25 per hour for up to 10 hours per month.
